Bringing better diagnostics closer to those who need it most

At Dr. R. N. Cooper General Hospital in Mumbai, run by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, thousands of patients from economically weaker families depend on public healthcare every year. For many of them, a private diagnostic test is simply unaffordable, and long waits for essential scans can delay treatment.

The initiative To strengthen the hospital’s diagnostic services, Sahara Jan Kalyan Samiti, with CSR support from KONE India, renovated a dedicated examination room and equipped it with:

A modern ultrasound machine Wheelchairs A stretcher trolley The renovated facility was formally handed over to the hospital on 13 August 2026, in the presence of hospital officials, representatives of KONE India and members of the Samiti.

The impact 25–35 patients are examined in the new ultrasound room every day. For patients from weaker sections of society, this means timely, free diagnosis within a public hospital, without the cost of private scans or long delays. The new wheelchairs and stretcher trolley also make it easier and safer for elderly, sick and injured patients to move within the hospital.

Each day, this facility helps doctors diagnose conditions earlier and helps families get the care they need, when they need it.
